Spring Highlights with Triple creek eventing
Skyline, Spring Gulch & Archer Horse Trials Recap
The past month has been one of the most demanding—and rewarding—stretches of the season for Triple Creek Eventing. From Utah to Colorado to Wyoming, our team has put in serious miles, faced unpredictable weather, tackled new levels, and come away stronger every step of the way.
These shows weren’t just about ribbons—they were about heart, growth, and the incredible people and horses who make this journey worthwhile.
Skyline Horse Trials – May 2–3
We kicked off our spring season at the stunning Skyline Horse Trials in Utah. It was a special weekend for me personally and professionally, as Horacio (Fernhill Opulence) and I delivered another strong performance- finishing 2nd in Open Preliminary and officially qualifying for our CCI2*.
This result was made even more meaningful by the challenges leading up to the event. I was navigating a difficult time personally, and the strength it took to prepare and perform at that level was only possible because of the unwavering support of my team and community. To everyone who checked in, stood by me, and lifted me up—thank you. Your support made all the difference.
Spring Gulch Horse Trials – May 17
Next up was the ever-busy Spring Gulch Horse Trials, a packed one-day show that brought out six TCE horses and riders ready to compete and grow.
This event reminded us of the value in both the wins and the lessons. The atmosphere was intense, but our riders stayed focused and positive. Most importantly, all pairs finished the day safe and sound.
Results:
🥉 Ella & Lassban Sansa – Open Training
4th Bricelyn & Blue Moon – Beginner Novice Rider
4th Kelsey & Tobin – Starter
7th Natalie & Calico Bay – Beginner Novice
Lina & Celia – strong, confidence-building rides in Novice
Between the Shows – Rain, Mud & Grit
Colorado weather kept us on our toes between shows, with heavy rain making preparation for our next event difficult. Our fields were flooded, and we had to get creative to stay on track. Despite limited riding windows and less-than-ideal conditions, our horses and riders pushed through and stayed focused.
The Event at Archer – May 30–June 1
Just two weeks after Spring Gulch, we headed north for The Event at Archer. With a smaller crew due to travel and personal commitments, we leaned on quality over quantity—and our team delivered in every way.
Ella moved up to Modified and was the only rider to complete the division. Her rounds were confident, forward, and technically sound. She received consistent compliments on her riding all weekend—a huge milestone.
Celia reached her goal of competing at Novice, riding beautifully with just one rail keeping her off the podium. Her partnership with Ardeo Wicklow Mountain continues to blossom.
Bricelyn delivered flawless jumping rounds, a huge comeback moment after a recent setback.
Raven, riding barn-favorite Tobin, gave a thoughtful and precise ride, landing a well-earned second-place finish in Starter.
Results from Archer:
🥇 Ella & Lassban Sansa – Open Modified
🥈 Becca & Fernhill Opulence – Open Prelim
🥈 Raven & Tobin – Starter
4th Celia & Ardeo Wicklow Mountain – Novice
🥉 Bricelyn & Blue Moon – Beginner Novice
A very special shoutout goes to Natalie and her family, who faced the difficult situation of their mare colicking the night before competition. Thanks to quick action and the team at CSU, she recovered fully. Natalie showed remarkable poise and horsemanship, and we look forward to cheering her on at the next show.
What’s Next for TCE
We roll straight into TCE Bootcamp this week (June 3–6), a focused week of training to help our riders prepare for what’s ahead.
Next on the competition calendar: Mile High Horse Trials, July 5–6, and then we begin preparations for the iconic Rebecca Farm, with entries opening this week.
Gratitude & Growth
This month has reminded us how powerful a strong team and support network can be—especially in the face of challenges. Whether you’re a rider, parent, friend, groom, sponsor, or supporter, thank you. Your belief in what we do makes it all possible.
Here’s to resilience, progress, and more clear rounds ahead!
