Blue Moon — The Pony Who Keeps on Giving

Some horses seem to arrive in our lives exactly when they’re meant to. Blue Moon is one of those.

Blue first came into Rebecca’s program at Triple Creek Ranch several years ago when one of our dedicated lesson students was ready to purchase her first pony after leasing. At the time, Blue was living at a nearby barn as a jumper—talented, full of try, and bursting with personality. His first TCR family entrusted him to Becca’s training program to help him transition into eventing, and together they began their journey across all three phases. Under Rebecca’s guidance, Blue blossomed into a confident, well-rounded eventing partner—developing the bravery, balance, and rhythm that would make him a reliable teacher for years to come.

Blue carried his young rider through her first shows, her first cross-country runs, and the many milestones that come with growing up in this sport. When she eventually graduated and outgrew him, Blue didn’t stay on the market for long—within days, another Triple Creek family saw what made him so special and welcomed him into their lives.

For the past two and a half years, Blue has continued to do what he does best: teach, inspire, and bring joy. With his current rider, he’s helped another young eventer discover her confidence and love for competition, always meeting every new challenge with his signature enthusiasm and heart.

He’s as lovely to look at as he is to ride—a striking gray paint with bright blue eyes, correct conformation, and a kind, charming personality that wins everyone over. Blue shines in the dressage ring with correct, elastic gaits and a soft, responsive feel in the bridle. Over fences, he’s happiest teaching in the cross-rails to 2'7" range, though he confidently schools to 3'. His 2024 season highlights include winning the Area IX Starter Championship, and he has been AEC-qualified nearly every year he has competed.

Around the barn, Blue is the ultimate good citizen—tidy in his stall, easy to handle, great on trails, and patient for the vet and farrier. He trailers beautifully, enjoys grooming days, and thrives on attention. A classic easy keeper, he lives comfortably in a stall, eats well, and maintains easily on hay and basic supplements.

Blue truly is the kind of pony every trainer dreams of: safe, smart, and endlessly generous. He’s the one you trust to teach lessons and to remind every kid why they fell in love with horses in the first place.

Now, as his current rider prepares to move up, Blue is ready for his next chapter—and his next student. His family adores him and knows he has another child to teach and another heart to touch. He could be a small adults next dressage star, a young riders first jumper or simply your best friend in the world.

This is a rare opportunity to bring home a one-in-a-million pony who is beautiful, talented, and proven—ready to make someone else’s dreams come true.
